I collaborated closely with Josh Wilson, art director at High Snobiety, taking inspiration from the gentle chaos of French new wave cinema, which inspired each aspect of the creative approach. We shot on 16mm film, predominantly on track and dolly.
This was a dream collaboration, to have the opportunity to channel the joy and charisma of Francis Bourgeois (train enthusiast/ internet sensation/ national treasure) into a whimsical Alpine world featuring the new range of The North Face x Gucci collection.
With choreographed movement direction throughout to help create a sense of urgency and chaos, elevated further in the edit. The playful music score was created entirely out of synthesised train sounds by composer Steve Pringle, inspired by the sounds of steam whistle organs and early synth effects.
